Matt Burton set to hit free agency in 2028
Matt Burton's manager has listed the Bulldogs centre as available on the open market when free agency opens on November 1.
Canterbury-Bankstown centre Matt Burton will become a free agent in 2028 and is already being shopped to rival clubs. Manager David Riolo included Burton's name on a list of clients available to discuss terms from November 1 onwards.
Burton played 23 games for the Bulldogs this season, scoring nine tries and kicking 23 goals, with the Bulldogs finishing 12th. Recently Burton said he was open to playing anywhere, whether in his current centre role or the No. 6 position.
The move signals that Burton will test what other teams are willing to offer when negotiations officially begin.
