IVFAustralia closes main Canberra fertility clinic in December
A top Canberra fertility clinic will close on 16 December. Specialist doctors chose to partner with another provider.
The clinic serves patients from Wagga Wagga, Albury, Griffith, Goulburn, the Southern Highlands and the Snowy Mountains. Existing patients can have final embryo transfers until 21 December.
The company said searches for new fertility specialists proved unsuccessful. Searches for new offices also failed.
IVFAustralia will keep storing eggs, sperm and embryos at other places. ACT Health Minister Marisa Paterson said the closure is sad for people getting fertility treatment.
