Teen driver barred from driving after Newcastle car crash injured 10

An 18-year-old driver was granted bail on Friday after allegedly crashing a BMW into a crowd of Newcastle fans, injuring 10 people. The incident happened on Saturday as the group gathered to farewell the Knights team bus ahead of the NRL grand final.
Judge Khan barred the teenager from driving any vehicle and imposed strict conditions. The conditions include a night curfew from 8pm to 7am, daily reporting to police, and a ban from Newcastle except for court.
Among the injured were a five-year-old girl and Chris Clancy, who suffered fractures in his ribs, spine and foot, and a broken collarbone. He faces nine charges including dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.
