Kimi Antonelli leads Mercedes at Spanish Grand Prix practice
Championship leader Kimi Antonelli clocked the fastest lap for Mercedes in second practice at Madrid's new Spanish Grand Prix track.
Kimi Antonelli topped Friday's second practice session at Madrid's newly built Madring circuit with a lap of one minute 33.662 seconds. The runaway championship leader edged Ferrari's Charles Leclerc by 0.113 seconds, with seven-times champion Lewis Hamilton 0.149 seconds back in third.
George Russell was fifth for Mercedes. Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad crashed at Turn 13 and brought out red flags, ending his session 24 minutes early but finishing fourth overall.
McLaren's Oscar Piastri was seventh, while teammate Lando Norris sat out the later session for a gearbox change.
