81-year-old man dies after Broken Hill knife robbery
An 81-year-old man died in Broken Hill Hospital more than two weeks after an alleged knife-point robbery and assault on September 13.
An 81-year-old man has died following serious injuries he sustained in an alleged robbery in Broken Hill on September 13. Police found him at a home on Argent St with head injuries and fractured ribs after a man allegedly demanded money, threatened him with a knife, and assaulted him before stealing cash.
The man was taken to Broken Hill Hospital in serious condition and died on Wednesday. A 38-year-old man was arrested at a motel in Dubbo on September 14 and has been charged.
Police said the accused man was known to the victim. A report will be prepared for the coroner.
