Man accused of grooming 14-year-old granted bail
Rami Saleh, 23, was granted bail with a curfew and supervision after his arrest on grooming charges.
A 23-year-old ACT man was arrested on charges of grooming a 14-year-old girl over about four months. Police say he sent her sexual messages via Instagram and Snapchat.
The man left cash hidden in bushes for her. The man sent her child abuse material and gave her alcohol.
The prosecutor said his actions were serious because they went on for about four months. Magistrate Ian Temby ruled it was unlikely he would destroy evidence on social media.
Police had already collected the data. He was granted bail with strict rules.
These include a curfew, supervision by authorities, and one phone that police can check. He cannot contact the girl or her family.
He cannot leave the ACT.
