18-year-old thrown from Pendulum ride at Mexico fair

An 18-year-old died after slipping from safety restraints on the Pendulum ride at a Cabo San Lucas fair on October 20.

An 18-year-old woman was thrown from the Pendulum ride at a fair celebrating the Feast of St. Luke in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on 20 October. She died shortly after.

Witness footage shows her slipping from the ride's restraints before falling. Paramedics treated her at the scene and rushed her to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Los Cabos Mayor Christian Agúndez ordered an immediate safety review of all rides at the fair. Authorities are investigating the incident.

The ride was suspended and the area secured. A similar incident occurred earlier this month when a man fell from a rollercoaster at Six Flags Over Georgia in the US, with four others injured.
