Murder trial hears couple 'were falling in love' before death
Jesse Baird and Luke Davies were falling in love before they were allegedly murdered in February 2024.
A jury in the NSW Supreme Court heard emotional testimony about Jesse Baird and Luke Davies. The couple met at a New Year's Eve party in December 2023 and quickly became inseparable.
Baird's mother told the court they were smitten from the start. Baird, 26, was a presenter on Studio 10.
Davies, 29, was a Qantas flight attendant. Baird introduced Davies as his boyfriend to friends and family.
Baird's close friend Matthew Edwards described Baird as almost falling in love with Davies. Edwards said he had never seen his friend happier.
A former colleague from the TV show recalled Baird telling her just a week before his death how much he liked Davies. Former police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon is accused of disguising himself as an Uber Eats rider.
He allegedly killed both men at Baird's Paddington home. He is arguing self-defence.
