Essendon builds McVeigh's coaching team with Longmire and Skipworth push
Essendon signed Sydney coach John Longmire and is chasing Collingwood assistant Hayden Skipworth to rebuild its coaching structure.
Mark McVeigh, Essendon's first-time coach, is reshaping the club's football department. John Longmire, who won a premiership at Sydney, joined this week as general manager of performance.
Essendon is now chasing Collingwood's senior assistant Hayden Skipworth for the 2027 coaching panel. Skipworth played a key role in Collingwood's 2023 premiership and has been pursued by West Coast, Carlton, and North Melbourne.
The Bombers also signed Brent Prismall as head of development and Shane Mumford as a development coach. McVeigh is filling gaps left by Dan McPherson, Essendon's former head of football.
