Teen shot in Canberra drive-by as man on parole charged
A 29-year-old man was arrested after allegedly firing into a car carrying four teenagers in Gordon, hitting one passenger.
A teenage boy was shot in the back seat of a red Ford Falcon as it travelled through Conder on Friday night. The driver of a red Hyundai i30 allegedly followed the car and opened fire at the intersection of Box Hill Avenue and Tharwa Drive.
The teenagers called police, who directed them to Tuggeranong Police Station. Officers provided first aid before paramedics took the boy to hospital with serious injuries.
Police found the suspected shooter near a bush on Greaves Place around 11.30pm and arrested him. The 29-year-old man, who was subject to parole conditions, faced court on Saturday charged with using a firearm to endanger human life.
