Man sentenced for rape threats and assault spanning 18 months
Adam Elmer received nine months prison plus a corrections order for multiple offences including threats and indecent exposure.
Elmer was arrested in June 2025 driving while intoxicated and disqualified. Elmer assaulted a police officer and tested positive for cannabis, methamphetamine, and alcohol at 0.207.
Three months later, he exposed himself to staff at Caulfield Station while intoxicated. In 2026, he attacked a woman with a vacuum cleaner, then drove another woman and abandoned her after spitting in her face and threatening to rape her daughter.
Police arrested him two days later. Magistrate Ronald Saines said his offences were 'nasty' and alcohol abuse lay at their heart.
Elmer also had five previous drink-driving convictions. He received nine months prison (with 186 days already served) plus a one-year community corrections order requiring mental health and drug and alcohol treatment.
