Chayce Otto pleads guilty to assaulting his pregnant sister twice
The 20-year-old admitted in court to two assaults on his pregnant older sister during disputes at her home in North Albury.
Chayce Otto, unemployed and a regular cannabis user, has pleaded guilty to two counts of common assault. On October 7, he shoved his pregnant sister in her bathroom and delivered a backhand slap that sent her into the shower screen.
She had said she couldn't fetch him a drink while brushing her teeth. A week later, he returned to collect his belongings.
During an argument, he dragged her to the ground by the shoulder, leaving a red mark on her neck. The woman was nine weeks pregnant at the time and frightened by his erratic behaviour.
Judge Melissa Humphreys said the offending was especially serious given the victim was pregnant and living with two young children. Otto was ordered to undergo a sentence assessment report.
He will be sentenced on December 1.
