Ungabilla farm heads to auction with ready-planted sorghum crop
Ungabilla farm, 2,965 hectares with a ready-planted 500-hectare sorghum crop, goes to auction December 11.
Ungabilla is near Surat in Queensland, a grain and cattle property that owners have made into a top performer in the region. The farm has 1,540 hectares of dryland cropping, 1,198 hectares of grazing and 226 hectares of native vegetation.
The property started in 2000 as a grazing farm with little crop work. By 2010, development work had greatly increased the cropping capacity.
New owners get a 500-hectare sorghum crop that is already planted. The property includes two homes and worker housing.
Large dams, grain silos, and extensive farm sheds complete the infrastructure. Marketing agent Clayton Smith called Ungabilla a true Western Downs performer.
He noted its industry-best farming practices. JLL Agribusiness will run the auction on December 11 in Dalby.
