Lachlan Holton wins grand final best-on-ground three years after father
Lachlan won best-on-ground in the NTFA division one grand final, just three years after father Josh won it.
Lachlan Holton won best-on-ground in Saturday's NTFA division one grand final at age 18. Father Josh had won the same award three years earlier, and the pair played together in Saturday's final as Josh kicked his 1000th career goal.
Rocherlea's main ruckman Brock Jackson suffered a fractured skull in round 16, pushing Lachlan into the ruck for the past seven or eight weeks. Coach Luke Richards said Lachlan played with great intensity, especially strong in the last three or four games.
At 18, the teenager has already won three premierships and a best-on-ground award.
