Carla Woodcock leads shark thriller White with Kate Beckinsale
Outlander actor Carla Woodcock has been cast as the lead in shark thriller White, alongside Kate Beckinsale and Katherine McNamara.
Carla Woodcock, known for the television series Outlander, will play the main character in White, a new shark survival thriller directed by Jake West. The film follows Willa Harba, a struggling actress whose private jet crashes into the Pacific Ocean.
Willa becomes the sole survivor stranded on a broken wing in the middle of the water with only a satellite phone. When she calls her demanding studio boss (played by Kate Beckinsale) for help, she refuses to aid her.
A marine biologist named Sam Swatek (Katherine McNamara) picks up her signal and delivers some bad news: Willa has crashed in the White Shark Café, a stretch of ocean where great white sharks gather to feed.
The screenplay comes from Dan Schaffer, writer of the cult comic book series Dogwitch. Highland Film Group is co-financing the project, with Rialto Distribution handling rights for Australia and New Zealand.
