Shrek 2 Remastered accidentally leaked with GTA 6-style parody trailer
A remaster of Shrek 2, the 2004 video game tie-in, accidentally leaked with a GTA 6-style trailer.
A store page for Shrek 2 Remastered briefly went live on the Microsoft Store before being taken down, revealing the long-dormant game is getting a full remake. Developer Aspyr will enhance textures, boost the frame rate to 4K, add a photo mode, and let players mix online and local co-op for up to four players.
The leaked trailer mimicked Grand Theft Auto 6's style, opening with 1980s music, neon lights and palm trees before cutting to gameplay footage. The page listed Xbox Series X|S but the game will also come to PC and PlayStation.
No release date or price was shown. The remaster is likely to be officially announced at an ID@Xbox Showcase on October 20.
This will be the first Shrek console game since 2010's Shrek Forever After.
