Waratah's massive drilling finds gold intercepts exceeding 100-gram metres
Waratah Minerals has drilled 80,000 metres at its Spur gold-copper project in NSW. The drilling found 28 intercepts over 100 gram metres.
Waratah Minerals is running one of Australia's biggest active drilling programs. The Spur gold-copper project sits 12 kilometres west of Newmont's Cadia operation in NSW's Macquarie Arc.
The company completed 80,000 metres of drilling in less than a year. The total includes 77,000 metres drilled this year.
The team found 28 intercepts over 100 gram metres. Best results include 80 metres at 1.78 grams per tonne gold and 104 metres at 1.53 grams per tonne.
The Consols discovery returned 46 metres at 7.27 grams per tonne from 541 metres depth. Mineralisation extended 70 metres north and 150 metres east.
Initial testing showed gold recovery of better than 90 per cent by gravity and conventional leaching. This suggests a conventional processing path.
Waratah aims to deliver a maiden resource in early 2027.
