Mbappé limps off with knee injury after scoring France winner
Real Madrid striker Mbappé scored France's goal in a 1-0 Nations League win over Turkey but suffered an apparent knee injury.
Kylian Mbappé's return to action ended on a sour note when he limped off with an apparent knee injury immediately after scoring France's winner against Turkey in the Nations League on Friday. Mbappé rifled in a low shot in the 55th minute to seal the 1-0 victory but soon sat on the pitch, grimacing as he rubbed his left knee.
New France coach Zinedine Zidane replaced him with Désiré Doué and later said Mbappé would need to return to Real Madrid for treatment. Zidane told French broadcaster TF1 the injury happened when Mbappé overextended his knee while shooting.
The Real Madrid captain was able to walk off under his own power. Elsewhere, Italy lost 2-0 at home to Belgium in Roberto Mancini's debut as their new head coach.
