Man charged with UK ex-MP murder and Farage home break-in plot
Joshua Kerry, 28, faces murder and terror charges linked to Ann Widdecombe's death and an attempted break-in at Nigel Farage's home.
Joshua Kerry appeared in Westminster Magistrates Court charged with murdering former Conservative MP Ann Widdecombe in July 2025. Kerry also faces charges linked to an attempted break-in at Reform UK leader Nigel Farage's home.
A prosecutor told the court Kerry left digital evidence showing he researched well-known figures and institutions between May 2024 and Widdecombe's death. Farage's partner found the door frame damaged on April 20, 2025.
A lighter fluid bottle and signs of a break-in attempt were found. Kerry's DNA was on the flammable liquid container.
Tracking data showed his journey from northern England to London and his car parked outside Farage's home for several hours. Kerry faces one count of preparation of terrorist acts.
He did not enter a plea and remains in custody.
