Teenager arrested at Sydney Airport over murder plot network
An 18-year-old was arrested at Sydney Airport. He was charged over an organised crime network linked to murder plots.
Reece Fakhr was arrested at Sydney International Airport on Tuesday afternoon. Police say he played a key role in an organised crime network linked to murder plots, kidnappings, arson and gun supply.
The investigation began only weeks ago. Detectives examined an encrypted device seized from a crime scene in Sydney's northwest.
The encrypted device allegedly revealed plans for conspiracies to murder, kidnappings, arson and gun supply. Fakhr was charged with 10 offences.
These included conspiracy to murder, directing a criminal group, recruiting others to assist crime and supplying firearms. He was refused bail.
His matter was mentioned in court on Wednesday.
