Alleged gang leader arrested at Sydney International Airport trying to flee after phone links
An 18-year-old was arrested at Sydney International Airport; his phone was found at a fatal shooting scene.
Australian Federal Police arrested Fakhr on Tuesday as he tried to leave the country. Fakhr's mobile phone was found at the scene of the Norwest shooting that killed the schoolboy just over a fortnight earlier.
The phone allegedly held evidence of conspiracies to murder, kidnappings, arson and gun supply. Fakhr has been charged with 10 offences including conspiracy to commit murder and supplying a pistol.
Police say he is instrumental in Coconut Cartel operations across Sydney. In August, he survived being shot while sitting in a car at Greenacre.
