Seventh arrest made in RAF Fairford terror plot investigation
A 22-year-old man arrested in London is the seventh person in a suspected terror plot at RAF Fairford.
British police arrested a 22-year-old man in Westminster on suspicion of planning terrorist acts as part of an investigation into a suspected plot near RAF Fairford. The airbase was being used by the US to strike Iran before the plot was discovered.
Counter Terrorism Policing said officers searched a property in the same area. The man remains in custody.
The investigation has drawn international attention. US President Donald Trump said an Iran-linked threat led to the removal of American B-1 bombers from the base.
Six other men in their 20s were previously arrested in connection with the investigation, including a dual British-Iranian national. Iran has denied any involvement in any alleged plot.
