Bazzana hits clutch double as Guardians force game 5 against White Sox
Travis Bazzana's RBI double sparked a six-run inning that kept Cleveland alive, forcing game five against Chicago.
The Guardians came back from the brink against the Chicago White Sox on Thursday night, erupting for six runs in the sixth inning to stay alive in the American League division series. Cleveland had dropped the first two games at home and faced elimination in Chicago.
Jose Ramirez hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning and added a run-scoring single in the sixth as Cleveland pulled ahead 3-2. The White Sox reclaimed the lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth.
But Bazzana's RBI double tied the game in the sixth and ignited the Guardians' comeback. Bailey, Ramirez, De Lauter and Adell added more runs as Cleveland sent ten batters to the plate.
Game five is Saturday at home in Cleveland. The winner faces the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League championship series.
