About two-thirds of Queenslanders doubt Olympic budget pledge
Polling shows about two-thirds of Queensland voters lack faith the government will stay within its $7.1 billion Olympic Games budget.
A Resolve survey of 434 voters between October 6 and 10 found roughly two-thirds across all parties doubted the government would keep costs under control. Sports Minister Tim Mander said the state would release project information progressively rather than publish a master plan.
The RNA Showgrounds upgrade, costing $287.5 million, would be a model for how updates would roll out. Mander said there was nothing to suggest any budget blowouts.
LNP voters showed limited confidence, with only 28 per cent backing the pledge.
