Historic Tasmanian manor Bentley to sell for estimated $7.5m to $8.5m
Bentley, a Victorian-era homestead in Chudleigh with seven bedrooms and historic outbuildings, is being sold by descendants of its 1866 owners.
Bentley, a grand 1800s homestead in northern Tasmania, is heading to market with an estimated price of $7.5 million to $8.5 million. The home features seven bedrooms, about 22 rooms total, and spans just over 900 square metres.
Historic outbuildings include cobbled stables. The property was bought in 2022 for $15.776 million.
The Cameron family, whose ancestors owned it from 1866, bought the property then. They have since separated 372 hectares of farming land to add to a neighbouring holding, and now wish to sell the homestead on 56 acres to someone who will use and care for it.
The home was built in 1879 by Donald Norman Cameron, and family lore suggests a cabinet meeting there discussed making Canberra the nation's capital.
