Rare sheep station lease near Broken Hill snapped up after nationwide interest
Two linked sheep stations are under offer after drawing interest from four states.
Big sheep stations rarely come up for lease, and the 88,500-hectare property on the SA-NSW border drew buyers from across Australia when it listed in late July. The Treloar family's Mooleulooloo and Strathearn stations, located about 50km west of Broken Hill, are now under offer.
The lease is scheduled to begin on January 1 subject to Ministerial consent and runs for five years with an option to renew for another five. The stations hold an approved stocking rate of 12,000 DSE.
The existing sheep flock and equipment may be available for separate negotiation with the successful lessee. Heavy rain made inspections tricky for agents during the marketing campaign.
