Thieves scale four floors to steal cars from Townsville apartment
Burglars climbed several balconies to reach a fourth-floor apartment in Townsville. They stole car keys and two vehicles while residents slept.
Thieves targeted a fourth-floor unit in Townsville on Tuesday night. The thieves scaled several balconies to reach the apartment.
A former police officer and her partner were sleeping inside. The intruders found the balcony door open and stole car keys.
They then drove away in two vehicles. The cars were discovered dumped and abandoned only an hour later.
Two other units in the same complex and another nearby building were also targeted. Jools Munro is a former police officer.
In her 20 years on the job, she had never seen anything like it. She urged other apartment dwellers to secure all doors and windows.
