Teen charged after grabbing seven-year-old girl in Adelaide
An 18-year-old man has been charged with abduction after allegedly grabbing and carrying away a young girl on a street in Paralowie.
Police say a girl was walking along Niven Drive with her family and grandparents when a man approached and picked her up. The man carried her a short distance before putting her down again.
A passer-by nearby saw what was happening and scared the man off. The man released the child.
A member of the public chased the man but lost sight of him in nearby parks. The girl's mother posted on social media thanking those who helped.
She urged parents and grandparents to stay alert. An 18-year-old Paralowie man has been charged with abduction of a child.
He was refused bail. He is due to appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court.
