Beau Lamarre-Condon denies fleeing after double murder

Trial hears accused officer told police he wasn't avoiding them on the phone before turning himself in after two men died.

A Sydney police officer accused of murdering his ex-partner has told a court he was not fleeing. Beau Lamarre-Condon, 31, vanished for four days after the alleged killings.

He faces trial over the deaths of Jesse Baird, his ex-partner, and Luke Davies, both in their 20s, on 19 February 2024. A colleague tried to reach him via Instagram, writing "Hey hun … can you please contact the crime manager at eastern suburbs asap when you get a chance?"

He rang police on 22 February promising to come in the next day, and he did. Police then found the bodies in surfboard bags at a rural property.

The crown alleges Lamarre-Condon killed Baird execution-style and shot Davies to eliminate a witness. He claims he acted in self-defence after entering the terrace to retrieve his belongings.
