Knights fans with disability support celebrate grand final week
Disability support workers and clients decorate their Newcastle office and sing to celebrate the Knights' grand final appearance.
Kyle Smee has been a die-hard Knights supporter since he was born in 1988, the same year the club started. Kyle's home is packed with Knights gear, bedspread, clock, bobbleheads, and membership hats.
Kyle also owns a football signed by the original team. On Thursday, Smee and others supported by Life Without Barriers decorated their Hunter Street office in red and blue for grand final weekend.
The Fireflies, a busking group from the disability support organisation, performed Tina Turner's "The Best" and Silverchair's "Straight Lines" to mark the occasion. Fireflies member Cameron Howard called the Knights his favourite team in the world.
Belinda Roche, a fan for 25 years, said she was feeling awesome about the match. Life Without Barriers manager David Meree said the team wanted to ensure people they support felt part of the wider Knights community.
