Three runners attempt 120 km in 24 hours for cancer charity
Three men will run 120 kilometres in 24 hours around Lake Tuggeranong on November 7 to raise $10,000 for Dreams2Live4 charity.
Chris Williams, Matthew Leckenby and Toby Fuller will run 120 kilometres in 24 hours around Lake Tuggeranong on Saturday, November 7. Chris, Matthew and Toby will complete 24 laps starting at 8 am, aiming to raise $10,000 for Dreams2Live4.
Dreams2Live4 is a national charity helping people aged 17 and over with terminal cancer realise their wishes. Chris, an ultramarathon runner, came up with the idea after his sister Natalie was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer.
Natalie's husband Matthew is joining the run, as is Toby, a blood cancer survivor. The charity helped Natalie pay for a family holiday; others have been granted wishes to meet sports heroes or travel.
Chris is inviting others to join for any part of the 24-hour run at the lake. He said staying awake will be the toughest challenge, but having teammates alongside will help keep everyone alert.
