Triptorelin listed on PBS to replace Zoladex from October
Triptorelin 3.75 mg joins PBS from October 1 as Zoladex is delisted for about 13,580 users.
From 1 October, Triptorelin 3.75 mg will be on the PBS for breast cancer, endometriosis, and uterine fibrosis. Zoladex, the current drug, will be delisted on 1 November.
In 2025, about 13,580 Australians accessed Zoladex. Without PBS help, Triptorelin costs more than $1370 per script.
It will cost $25 per script. Health Minister Mark Butler said the government fast-tracked the drug's approval after talks with cancer groups.
A metastatic cancer patient said the listing gives women certainty. They can access the treatment their doctor prescribes.
