Former Cleary Bros site lodged for $14m chemical filling facility
Wollongong City Council receives a development application. It would convert the former Cleary Bros head office into a chemical filling plant.
A $14 million development application has been filed with Wollongong City Council to demolish the old Cleary Bros head office. Two new industrial buildings would be built on the site at 37-39 Five Islands Road.
The facility will be run by Paragon Aerosol and Volumetric Filling, an Australian maker of paints, degreasers and industrial solvents. The property was bought for $15 million in May 2026.
The project is split into two separate approvals. The first phase includes demolishing the warehouse and building a high-bay warehouse with robotic storage and an aerosol production facility.
Future phases would add a paint blending facility and component assembly building. Cleary Bros operated from the site for more than four decades.
The company sold to Maas Group last year.
