Five London men arrested near RAF Fairford, none charged so far
Burnham said Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps was highly likely behind a suspected plot, which Iran denies.
UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham says a suspected plot against RAF Fairford was highly likely directed by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps. RAF Fairford is an air base in south-west England.
Five London men were arrested near the base on September 27 on suspected terrorism and explosive offences. Detectives said they found petrol but no viable explosive in the vans.
The five men were released on police bail. None of the seven suspects has been charged so far.
Iran has rejected any involvement. It calls the claims unfounded and malicious speculation.
Foreign ministries from almost 30 countries condemned Iran's use of violent attacks. The UK has also sanctioned two Iranian citizens.
The UK says Ruhollah Bazghandi is head of counterespionage operations for the Revolutionary Guard Corps. The other is a facilitator for the Zindashti criminal network.
That network is accused of involvement in several plots against Iranian dissidents.
