Gelato Messina opens soft serve and art shop on Lower East Side
Australian gelato brand Gelato Messina opened Softville, a soft serve and art store on New York's Lower East Side, on October 1.
The store is 2,500 square feet. The store is on Orchard Street in the Lower East Side.
Softville is a 50-50 partnership with Studio Jeremyville, a long-time creative partner. The soft serve is made fresh using milk from Hudson Valley in New York.
The menu has five signature sundaes. One is a pavlova with mango and yoghurt soft serve.
Another is Dulce con Churros, a Messina favourite. The store also has art installations, exhibitions, and drawing clubs.
This is Gelato Messina's first US location. The company spent six or seven years planning it.
