Bendigo developers plan 14 homes smaller than a tennis court on single property
A developer plans to build compact homes on a single Bendigo property to ease housing pressure in the region.
Bendigo's council is considering a $3.2 million proposal to build 14 small homes on one Epsom property currently occupied by a single house. Twelve of the new units would be two-bedroom homes with a small backyard, shed, and two car spaces.
Two three-bedroom units would be slightly bigger. All would have garage space and living areas.
The project comes as the Epsom and Ascot area could grow by 22 per cent over the next 20 years. This raises demand for smaller homes suited to young professionals, older people, and smaller families.
The council has long called for more diverse housing options across the city.
