UK couple's deaths in Spanish hot tub likely caused by electrocution
A Spanish coroner found a couple died from electrocution in a holiday hot tub.
Thomasina and Patrick Tobin were found dead in a jacuzzi at their villa in Cullera, Spain on August 25. The 14- and 16-year-old children found them and alerted authorities.
Early tests showed heart failure, but the Spanish coroner said electrocution was the cause. Police looked into whether the jacuzzi had faults in its suction fittings, overheating, or filtration.
Based on where they were found, it appears Patrick tried to save Thomasina after she was electrocuted. He was electrocuted too.
