Two children die in school run crash west of Melbourne
Ossama El Hawli, 11, and Sarah, 7, were killed when a 4WD rolled taking children home from school.
The vehicle rolled at the intersection of Nerowie Road and Parwan-Exford Road about 4.30pm on Tuesday. Sarah died at the scene despite attempts to revive her.
Ossama was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition but died overnight. The 34-year-old female driver told family she swerved to avoid rocks on the road before the crash.
Five other children in the vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was taken for observation.
Al Iman College said Sarah was a cherished Year 2 student and that Ossama's siblings also attend the school.
