Swanbourne's community garage sale returns November 15
Swanbourne's biggest community garage sale returns November 15 from 7am to noon, with organisers hoping to attract up to 100 participating homes.
The leafy Perth suburb will host its second annual event on November 15. Driveways and yards across the neighbourhood open to bargain hunters seeking secondhand homewares, toys and clothes.
Bridget Robertson, a 22-year Swanbourne resident, created the event to help people walk and chat with neighbours. Last year 60 homes registered for the sale, stretching from Walba Way near The Shorehouse to the other side of Swanbourne Primary School.
Shops and local bakers benefited too. Robertson said visitors typically grabbed a coffee and browsed the whole neighbourhood.
One year some kids sold out of brownies and cookies. Residents can register online now to appear on a digital map and make browsing easier.
Robertson hopes to reach about 100 homes this year.
