North Melbourne held off Carlton's strongest challenge in years to claim a 10-point AFLW win on Sunday at Arden St Oval, pushing the Kangaroos' winning streak to 32 games. Carlton, undefeated until now, competed all afternoon and momentarily took the lead in the second quarter.
The match drew a record crowd for the ground with over 3,500 spectators. Kangaroos captain Jasmine Garner had 30 disposals and five tackles, while reigning Best and Fairest Ash Riddell managed 39 possessions and 521 metres gained.
Carlton's Erone Fitzpatrick and Harriet Cordner fought hard in defence with seven and 29 possessions respectively. The match was played as part of the annual AFLW SuperClash to raise funds for the Royal Children's Hospital's Good Friday Appeal.
