Detective breaks down testifying at Beau Lamarre-Condon trial

Detective Christine Abela found the remains of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies eight days after the February 2024 shooting.

Jesse Baird, 26, and Luke Davies, 29, were shot dead in a Sydney terrace in February 2024. Beau Lamarre-Condon pleaded not guilty, claiming the men died in separate struggles after he entered disguised as a delivery rider.

Detective Abela led a search of Cella Farm, 200km south of Sydney. Lamarre-Condon allegedly tried to sink the bodies in a dam there.

Detective Abela found their remains eight days after the shooting. They were hidden beneath branches and sticks in surfboard bags.

Abela became emotional in court describing the strong smell as she approached the bags. Prosecutors say Lamarre-Condon became obsessed with Baird after they broke up in November 2023.

He decided to murder him.
