Ballarat photographers document city's quiet heroes
Two photographers are creating an exhibition of Ballarat's everyday community heroes.
Caroline Fredericks and Keith Wilson moved to Ballarat three years ago. They had lived overseas before.
In their first month, they met a local artists' collective president. They were drawn into the arts community.
They started a photography project to celebrate residents who quietly strengthen their community. Featured people are nominated by others, not themselves.
They chose to stay and help despite opportunities elsewhere. Subjects range from about age 30 to 92.
An exhibition is planned for September 2027.
