Bendigo Latin Festival raises funds for Colombia earthquake relief
Bendigo Latin Festival on October 3 will feature Puerto Rican performer Marisabel Bonet-Cruz. Funds raised will support Colombia after August's devastating earthquake.
Marisabel Bonet-Cruz is a Puerto Rican woman living in Bendigo. She will perform at the Bendigo Latin Festival on Saturday, October 3 at Rosalind Park.
Marisabel plans to sing traditional songs including Preciosa. Preciosa celebrates her island's culture and history.
The festival will raise funds for people in Colombia and neighbouring countries. They are still rebuilding after a 7.4 to 7.5 magnitude earthquake on August 10.
The earthquake killed over 300 people. Festival organiser Jorge Restrepo says the earthquake affected the most vulnerable.
One of Colombia's poorest towns was hit hardest. Thousands of people are expected to attend.
