Car hits heritage tram in Bendigo, no injuries reported

A female driver attempting a U-turn collided with a heritage tram on Bendigo's Napier Street on Friday afternoon with no injuries.

A car and heritage tram collided just before 3pm Friday on Napier Street. The driver had tried a U-turn and didn't see the tram coming.

The tram driver and one passenger were shaken but unharmed. The car driver got an infringement notice.

The tram had only minor damage. Ambulance Victoria said no emergency treatment was needed.

Services stopped for the rest of Friday while crews secured the scene. Bendigo Tramways expects services to resume Saturday, September 12.

Police, Ambulance Victoria and Fire Rescue Victoria all responded.
