Serial rapist shows no remorse as sentencing begins for assault crimes
Two women presented accounts of trauma from Ryan Wolfgang Erntner's sexual assaults.
Ryan Wolfgang Erntner, 34, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two women in ACT Supreme Court. The first survivor described how his sustained, deliberate violations left her fighting every day for peace.
The second woman spoke of being drugged and filmed while Erntner assaulted her, and of his threats to set her on fire. The two women told the court the violence changed the course of their lives.
Erntner showed no remorse during the sentencing hearing, appearing disinterested over a video link. The court heard his crimes included rape, choking, recording without consent, and threats of violence.
The judge thanked the first woman for her courage in testifying in person. Sentencing will continue on 12 December.
