Dangerfield set to claim most Brownlow votes ever

Patrick Dangerfield sits on 259 votes, just four short of Gary Ablett jnr's all-time Brownlow record. The AFL.com.au predictor forecasts him polling three votes this season, which would tie him with Ablett.
Dangerfield is a proven vote-getter, and a few extra votes would put him alone at the top. The Geelong captain won the medal in 2016 and finished runner-up twice.
The Brownlow is announced Monday night. However, while Dangerfield chases one record, his grip on another is slipping.
His tally of 56 three-vote games looks likely to be surpassed by Brisbane's Lachie Neale (54) and Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli (52).
