Nearly 300 cyclists ride to honour Bridie Lee and Ryan Riethmuller
About 300 cyclists will ride Saturday to honour Bridie Lee and Ryan Riethmuller, who died in a crash on August 27.
Bridie Lee and Ryan Riethmuller were members of the Canberra Bilbys Triathlon Club. Lee and Riethmuller died after a car hit their cycling group near Valley Avenue in Palmerston on August 27.
Lee died at the scene and Riethmuller passed away a week later at a Canberra hospital. On Saturday morning, close to 300 cyclists from local cycling and triathlon groups will meet at Dickson Pool at 8am and ride to Black Mountain Peninsula.
At 8:30am they will hold a moment of silence to remember both riders. The club coordinated the ride to show how deeply this tragedy has affected the cycling community.
Anyone from the public is welcome to join at Black Mountain Peninsula for the memorial event.
