Autumn Glow won the Champions Mile at Flemington but veterinary scans showed lameness in her left foreleg and hoof bruising.
Autumn Glow won the Champions Mile at Flemington with her 15th win in 16 starts. The superstar mare overhauled stablemate Lindermann down the straight.
Jockey James McDonald said she got a bit lost on her first run in the Melbourne direction. Post-race vets examined her and found lameness in the left foreleg.
Trainer Chris Waller reported that initial x-rays and scans showed no breaks. She is showing bruising on her left hoof.
Waller had compared Autumn Glow to legendary mare Winx, saying she could beat the champion on her day.
