Canberra United women's soccer gets private ownership
Australian Sports Group has taken over Canberra United from Capital Football. This shows investment in the women's soccer club.
Canberra United women's soccer team is entering a new era under private ownership. Australian Sports Group (ASG) has taken control.
Capital Football had run it for 18 years. ASG is developing a new training base at McKellar Park to support the club.
The team has strong fans. 3,290 people attended an elimination final in April.
Canberra's first home game of the A-League Women's season is against Western Sydney Wanderers on 1 November at McKellar. High demand for tickets is expected.
This follows the Matildas' November match against Colombia in the city.
