Clancy lawyer asks judge to investigate lone juror in mistrial case
Lindsay Clancy's lawyer is seeking an investigation into juror Michael Desronvil, who alone voted to convict her of murder.
The lawyer filed a motion asking the court to question Desronvil about phone use during deliberations. The lawyer also asked about Desronvil's truthfulness on juror questionnaires.
A mistrial was declared earlier this month when the jury could not reach a unanimous verdict. Eleven of the 12 jurors were ready to acquit Clancy.
They believed she was in the grip of postpartum psychosis when her three children died. Desronvil sided with prosecutors who argued she knew what she was doing.
The lawyer asked for records of calls and texts Desronvil made during jury deliberations, which is prohibited in Massachusetts. A hearing on the motion is scheduled for September 29.
